RPNM STANDS BY RNC LETTER TO NBC, CNN

ALBUQUERQUE – NBC and CNN have announced their plans to produce films celebrating the life of Hillary Clinton. RNC Chairman Reince Priebus wrote a letter to the networks, calling for them to cancel their plans to produce the films. Otherwise, Priebus wrote, the Republican National Committee will not partner with the networks for upcoming Presidential debates.

RPNM Chairman John Billingsley issued the following statement, supporting Chairman Priebus’s letter and calling for journalistic integrity:
"I stand firmly in support of Chairman Priebus and his call for journalistic ethics from NBC and CNN. It is appalling to think that these two major networks would produce such films with the 2016 elections coming up. There is little doubt that doing so would be a push to help her as a Presidential candidate, and even promote her to celebrity status.
"It is time to demand integrity from news networks and call for fair treatment, regardless of party. Journalists are intended to give fair play and leave their own politics out of the news. Yet, that is not what we have seen time and again. Unfortunately, many have used their positions to support their own agendas, and it is time for this to stop. The decision by NBC and CNN to produce these films is unacceptable. The Republican Party of New Mexico stands with Chairman Priebus, and we are thankful to have leadership who will call out those news networks that so blatantly show a bias.”
