In honor of Thanksgiving, we want to say a special "thank you” to Congressman Steve Pearce, the lone Republican representing New Mexicans in D.C. As he always has, he has spent the past year providing dedicated service and representation to constituents in our Second Congressional District. He has traveled overseas to visit with our troops, has held numerous town hall meetings to hear from constituents, has met with veterans’ groups, and has been accessible and responsive. We extend our gratitude to him and his staff for their commitment to the kind of leadership New Mexicans deserve.

Tuesday, Albuquerque voters decided who would represent District 7 on Albuquerque’s City Council in the run-off election between Janice Arnold-Jones and Diane Gibson. While Diane Gibson won the majority of votes, the Republican Party of New Mexico thanks Janice Arnold-Jones for a hard fought race. RPNM Chairman John Billingsley issued the following statement on yesterday's election:
"Janice Arnold-Jones has a long history of public service, and we commend her for continuing with a willingness to serve and fight for the positive future of Albuquerque. This was undoubtedly a hard fought race, and we thank Janice and her campaign staff for their tireless work. We know their hard work was a direct result of their commitment to bettering the city of Albuquerque. While she did not win Tuesday's Albuquerque City Council election, we are grateful for her service and her persevering commitment to accountable and transparent leadership. She is a proven, genuine leader, and we wish her all the best in future endeavors.”

Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman John Billingsley issued the following statement in regards to the passing of Former RPNM Chairman and former Republican gubernatorial candidate John Dendahl:
"The officers and staff at RPNM join me in expressing our deepest condolences to the family and friends of John Dendahl. They will be in our thoughts and prayers, as we honor his memory. As a longtime fighter for Republican principles, there is no doubt that he left his mark not only on the Republican Party of New Mexico, but on the entire state as well.”
"Dendahl advocated for conservative principles and was a strong leader for our Party during his time of service. As a former athlete and competitor, he carried his competitive spirit throughout his leadership role with the Party, working hard to make positive changes. He was known for boldly expressing his convictions and standing for what he believed was right. During his time as Chairman, he worked hard to combat the corruption that existed within individuals within our state government at the time, successfully lead and grew the Party, and left a lasting legacy here in the state of New Mexico.”
