Obama’s Lack of Leadership and Broken Promises

ALBUQUERQUE – Today, Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman John Billingsley issued the following statement in response to President Barack Obama’s speech on potential U.S. military involvement in Syria:
"Once again, President Obama’s botched responses on foreign policy matters are disappointing and contradictory. Although he promised to strengthen our image in the world, his response to the situation in Syria has been amateurish at best. The American public overwhelmingly opposes U.S. military involvement in Syria, and tonight President Obama failed to plan out a logical and well thought plan of action.”
"It appears that he believes that this is a quick fix situation, and he gave little thought to what might happen after involving our military. Additionally, tonight he failed to persuade us that this is a good idea. Instead, he merely asked for a pause on action that is already unwanted by many and attempted to convince all that his unsteady leadership is on the right course.”
"We can chalk up the President’s handling of this situation to nothing more than a lack of leadership and more broken promises, and we are calling on the White House for credible leadership on this and other foreign policy situations. I firmly stand behind U.S. Congressman Steve Pearce and the numerous New Mexicans who have contacted our office, expressing their opposition to U.S. military involvement in Syria.”
